Beyond Gravity Delivers Structural Panels for Airbus-Built Eutelsat OneWeb Satellites
Satellite constellations are changing how the space industry works: hundreds of satellites, built in series and launched dozens at a time.
Beyond Gravity, a leading supplier to the global space industry, has delivered structural panels for Eutelsat’s 32 new OneWeb satellites. The satellites will soon be launched as part of the renewal of Eutelsat OneWeb’s approximately 650-satellite constellation, which provides global connectivity from orbit. The 32 new satellites are currently being integrated and prepared for launch at the Airbus site in Toulouse, France. At its site in Titusville, Florida, USA, Beyond Gravity will manufacture satellite structural panels used in the construction of the spacecraft.
The satellite panels produced by Beyond Gravity provide lightweight, high-strength structural support that is essential to the performance and reliability of the spacecraft throughout their mission lifecycle. The processes to manufacture satellite panels at this accelerated rate were developed in in Zurich, Switzerland, and manufactured at our high-cadence facility in Titusville. “We are delivering advanced composite and metallic solutions for both single-spacecraft missions and large-scale constellation programs serving commercial, civil, and defense customers worldwide”, says Alexandra Isele, Vice President Mechanical Satellite Solutions at Beyond Gravity. “To support increased production rates and the growing demand for satellite constellations worldwide, we are building the manufacturing capabilities required for the next generation of commercial, civil, and defense space missions.”
“Based on our industrial manufacturing capabilities we are proud to support such a crucial satellite program that advances global communications,” said Frank Chimenti, Director of Programs at Beyond Gravity in Titusville. In total, the Titusville site has shipped more than 5000 satellite panels to satellite customers worldwide. The facility was opened in 2017.
